INTERNSHIPS (UNPAID)

Mane Stream offers unpaid internships for motivated, enthusiastic college students and, on occasion, mature high school seniors. While working with a wide variety of participants and experienced staff, Mane Stream provides a chance for you to explore career possibilities and interests. Our program is flexible if you have interests outside of the programs detailed below.

TIME FRAME/COMMITMENT (Flexible):
Early/mid June to the end of August, Monday-Friday from 8:00am-1:00pm
At least 3 days per week for at least 6 weeks (about 15 to 25 hours/week)

AREAS OF FOCUS (Summer Camp):
Equine/Barn, Education/Special Education, Photography/Social Media/Marketing

RECOMMENDED DEGREES/CAREER INTERESTS:
Equine Science, Equine Business, Riding Instruction, Social Work, Human Services, Education/Special Education, Psychology, PT/OT/SLP, Early Childhood Development, etc.

THE IDEAL PERSON:
We require a person who is flexible, self-motivated, and mature. Unpaid interns must have good time management skills and take direction well. This is a professional work environment with a light-hearted culture. Those who are able to see a challenge or opportunity and jump in with a solution without being asked will be a huge asset to Mane Stream. We pride ourselves on teamwork, adaptability, and “making it work” with what we have available.

    1. If you are a current Mane Stream Volunteer, please still fill out the above link with all required documents. The application will be added to your current volunteer profile.

  3. Once you hit submit, the internship administrators will review your application and be in touch.

 

IF YOU ARE SELECTED AS AN INTERN, YOU WILL NEED TO…

  1. Complete your volunteer profile (used for hour tracking) & set up a volunteer portal.

  2. Complete the volunteer training process, including…

    1. Online, virtual orientation (1 hour)

    2. Online videos & quiz (about 1/2 hour)

    3. In-person, hands-on training ( 1.5 hours)

    4. Camp Training virtual presentation (1/2 hour)

  3. Complete a background check & fingerprinting (free of charge)
