This FREE program gives veterans and
service members the opportunity to relate to each other and partner with horses in a safe and natural environment under the guidance of EAGALA certified professionals. Our professionals will offer you an alternative way to learn and grow in partnership with horses and your team in a safe, caring, supportive and natural environment. Throughout the experience, participants will begin to rebuild an alliance of trust, while learning new skills and improving overall wellbeing.
The benefits of being around horses are numerous and proven. OPERATION: Take the Reins gives participants the chance to learn new skills while improving overall wellness. The connection made between participants and our horses is a powerful experience that enhances self-awareness and promotes growth. Horses provide a natural way to build trust and give honest feedback regarding personal feelings and emotions that may not otherwise surface.
WHAT YOU ACHIEVE:
Sessions are designed to decrease stress and enhance self awareness by integrating the horse-human connection through herd observation, horse handling, leading and grooming. On-going education around equine psychology and behavior facilitates self reflection and personal growth through guided interpretation of the horses’ nonverbal cues and immediate biofeedback. By the end, veterans and service members leave with new tools for wellness and a renewed perspective on their healing journey.
