It's the day before A Starlight Soiree, EQUUS XXVI and we are excited to announce this year's auctioneer, Christy Williams of Sotheby's.

Christy Williams began her career at Sotheby's as an intern in the London Old Master Drawings department in 2004.  She then joined Sotheby's full time in August of 2005 first as a member of the Sotheby’s Press Office and then with the Old Master Paintings team (2006-2010) where she oversaw administration for important museum and corporate sales from the J. Paul Getty Museum, Toledo Museum of Art, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Albright Knox Art Gallery, Fresno Museum of Art and Science, HSBC and Bank of America.  She has been in her current role in Museum and Corporate Art Services since August of 2010.

Ms. Williams manages relationships with over 100 museums and corporations to coordinate deaccessions, acquisitions, valuations and cultivation events. Ms. Williams acts as both a project and relationship manager trying to create transactional opportunities with both institutional and corporate clients.  She works extensively with Bank of America, The Museum of Modern Art and the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, to name a few, as well as many university museums.  She too is a licensed auctioneer.  Ms. Williams received a BA in English and art history from the University of Virginia.
