Taming Our Overgrown Landscape...

Thanks Morgan Stanley!

A huge shout out to special project volunteers Eileen Monahan, Arnold German and John Blum from Morgan Stanley who volunteered last week for three extremely hot and sweaty hours undertaking a complete taming of Mane Stream’s side garden with guidance from long-time Mane Stream volunteer and Master Gardener, Debi DeLorenzo.

This effort not only helped to remove piles of weeds and mounds of totally out of control Catnip but also uncovered a couple of surprises in the form of a yucca, peony and a sprawling group of blooming cactus. Who knew?

The team then started to clear the front entryway gardens in preparation for two Girl Scout Gold Award Projects which are currently in design phase.

Now back in the office, the team of three is setting up a “Wear your jeans to work day” to raise funds for our future landscaping endeavors. This Morgan Stanley program benefits a different organization each Friday by those who make a donation in order to wear their jeans…just another way employees can make a difference in their community.

Thanks once again to Eileen, Arnold, John and Debi for all their hard work which has now encouraged several Mane Stream volunteers to band together to continue the landscaping makeover.
