Even though the weather did not want to corporate, members of the Mane Stream staff stuck it out through the cold and snow to attend the PATH Intl. Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning (ESMHL) Workshop held at our facility in Oldwick, New Jersey. Held from February 19th-22nd, this four day workshop focused on how our horses can be part of a team that is using the strategy of Equine Facilitated Psychotherapy (EFP) and Equine Facilitated Learning (EFL) to help those with both mental health and learning difficulties and the role that an ESMHL plays in those sessions. The workshops consisted of both lectures and hands on activities with our very own four legged friends who were on their very best behavior for the PATH Intl. representatives there to teach the workshop. On the fourth day, our staff had the opportunity take the skills test portion of their portfolio, and...they all passed! Our staff is very thankful for the opportunity that was given to them and throughly enjoyed spending the weekend completing both professional and personal development and learning not only from the PATH Intl. representatives, but also from one another!
